These jam bars are a favorite for a quick dessert dish that everyone will love! I make them all the time for potlucks and parties, and they always disappear.

Any jam should work, so go wild. I usually use blackberry or raspberry, but mostly because those are my favorite jams.

The pictures above are all in smaller dishes, as I lost track of my 9×13. Works just as well though, especially if you like the crispy edges.

Ingredients

  • 3 c uncooked oatmeal
  • 1.5 c flour
  • 1 c br sugar
  • 1 c margarine – melted
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 10-12 oz jam (I have never actually measured this)

Directions

Combine all ingredients, except Jam.

Reserve 1 cup (at least), then press the remainder into a 9×13 dish.

Spread jam over pressed mixture in a thin layer, keeping about 1/2 inch from the edge.

Sprinkle the reserved mixture over the jam.

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes, or until browning as desired on top (can vary based on jam amount).
